Itinerary for First Big Bend Visit (5 days/6 nights) Thoughts?

My friends and I (3 total) are heading out to Big Bend this Monday and wanted some advice about our plans. I know there are similar posts, but I have read them and come up with what I think will be the best route for us.

If we don't make it to the park by 5, we are going to try to find a spot in the Chisos Basin and pay for everything/get our back country permit the next morning. The rest of the trip is outlined in the photo. We are hoping to get campsites in certain areas, but honestly, we will take whatever back country spots are available, since we have a good vehicle (Toyota FJ Cruiser).

I copied the itinerary from the picture below and included mileage and time estimation based on a book. We aren't the most fit hikers, so I figured about 8 miles a day should be doable. We know to bring enough water and food for the night between Day 3 and 4, but that might change completely based on campsite availability, especially with the closures due to bears.

Is there anything you guys would change or recommend we add?

Here is the more detailed outline:

Day 1: The Window (5.5 miles/3 hr) then Boquillas Canyon (1.4 miles/1 hr) and Ernst Tinaja (1 mile/1 hr)

| Total - 7.9 miles / 5 hrs

Day 2: Hot Springs (1 miles/30 min) and Mariscal Canyon (6.6 miles/4 hr)

| Total - 7.6 miles / 4.5 hrs

Day 3: Pinaccles, Emory Peak, Boot Canyon

| Total - 7.5 miles/4.5 hr

Day 4: NE/SE Rim, Laguna Meadow

| Total - 9.6 miles / 5.5 hr

Day 5: Sam Nail Ranch (0.5 miles/30 min), Homer Wilson/Blue Creek (0.5 miles/30 min), Burrough Mesa Pouroff (1 mile/1 hr), Mules Ear View Point, Tuff Canyon (0.8 miles/1 hr), Santa Elena Canyon (1.6 miles/1.5 hr)

| Total - 4.4 miles / 4.5 hr

P.S. Is theft a big problem in the park? I've read a bunch about not keeping your valuables in the car and it is starting to make me nervous.
