Before reading this please keep in mind the tone I am attempting. I want to have a emotionally detached conversation about the merits of different ways of approaching the same problem. If your frustrated and stressed out, hey maybe save it for later.

That is the same language and mindset as the "pwn the libtards" stuff. I agree with you science is the way forward because it requires objectively looking at reality. But insulting people who already don't value science isn't going to make them value science.

Thought experiment: Imagine I came up to you and start yelling at you about something, anything, what is your natural response? To take a defensive position. Start the process or fight or flight. Your not listening to me, your deciding if your gonna need to run away or kick my ass. Emotions are tied to the same pleasure/pain mechanisms in the brain that the physical body is. If you "verbally" attack someone, they are still going default to "fight or flight" just verbally.

Ultimately comes down to goals. If your goal is to express your frustration/anger and "pwn the trump-tards", then go for it. If your goal is to get people to change their behavior, maybe reconsider your approach.
