I was kind of set on getting one as my first bike but I think someone graciously convinced me to go with a used Shadow 750 instead, probably one from the 00s. It does has me a little bummed out but realistically I don’t have much business spending more than $3500 anyways on a bike.

One thing that currently has me confused is why they market it as a great commuter bike when it uses a chain instead of a shaft. I’d sort of like to believe there is something I’m missing even though it would be better if I got the Trident off my mind lol. I know it uses an X chain instead of an O but afaik it will still need to be lubed often and the maintenance will be expensive. But I’m still incredibly new and have much to learn about bikes. Haven’t even finished my MSF until next week.
