Trying to learn about my own car

I'm not familiar with your car but maybe you can call the dealership parts department and ask them for the part that you're looking for.....

Sadly due to the age of the vehicle it is not likely that unless you can physically go to the parts department holding the part in your hand that you will find anyone knowledgeable enough to help you.

What you need to do is contact the 800 number at a place like rockauto.com, and have a photograph on your phone of the components in question.

But your real resource is actually in the traditional internet

Using a laptop / desktop or by going to chrome on your phone, search for top online forums for your make and year of Toyota vehicle.

Because it is a Toyota you will find a spectrum of enthusiastic and well-informed owners of 1998 Toyotas.

By posting this question along with the photograph oh, you not only will get an immediate answer as far as where to get the part but in my experience, often they will welcome you as a new person and a senior member will simply drop the part into a box and mail it to you for free.

This has happened numerous times to me, and as a retired parts broker and technical assistance specialist, I have around 45 years of experience solving problems just like this one.

A case in point is my willingness to take this project on. So many human beings at this time have to reach into the lives of younger people or less experienced people to pass on our skills and experience

whether it is by being the Opie of this question in this subreddit, or reaching into these forums with your question, you have to understand that you are bringing a reward with you.

I am sure I'm not alone in being eager to help you. this is the kind of fun and fascinating project that many people live for.

So, how can we be of service? What can we do to continue your path to increasing your skills and experience?

What kind of encouragement do you need and what is frustrating you at this time?

is there anything that you're a little bit embarrassed to have to ask like what these parts look like or where they are located on an average car?
