This isn't an unpopular opinion probably but I think Simon was a bully through and through. He fat shamed contestants (how cruel was he to Mandisa??). Has shown he's homophobic and transphobic to certain contestants. Has gaslit many contestants by being unbelievably cruel to them then backtracking when called out on it. He's implied certain contestants are skanky. He had creepy "Me Too" moments (he told Amanda Avila he'd like to "come back as her microphone in a second life" during his critique).

He has just straight up humiliated so many people on TV that I'm surprised his career thrived on it.

The man is ick.

I recently binged the earlier seasons and so many problematic moments were standing out to me.
