Miao miao transmitter is one of these third party accessories that improve the initial reader.

Bascially it transforms the libre from a scanner that you need to use manually to an "actual" CGM.

I don't think any doctor wants to touch that with a 10 feet pole since it hasn't been in trials and it modifies the libre usage to such a large extent that you would probably not want to be accountable for that as a doctor. The more appropiate choice would be to prescibe an actual CGM (dexcom etc) if that is the request of the patient.

What all that said - I use a modified Libre myself (in another way, with a hacked app) and it works great. But the sad truth is that I would never mention this to my doctor.
