Can a type one diabetic have a A1C of someone who isn't diabetic?

Yes,my A1C's are on average 5.3, I've gotten my standard deviation down to 1.2 and time in range can be over 90% but that does vary as I try to keep my range between 3,9 and 8.

I've also had higher A1C's and much less time in range, it can never been "perfect" and I've had weeks even months of things just going "wrong" whether illness, stress or from the many things that affect our bg.

Any doctor who claims going below 6 I don't really believe. If one has a lower A1C but they vary between 2.9 and 20 daily and are on a wild ride, that's not healthy. If you're always low and end up with a low 1cC that's not good either.

Every T1 is different and we can't compare, but many doctors still go by old studies and are (understandably) afraid of us going hypo, but with modern tech like CGM's we can see exactly what's happening.
