Anyone know what the Keisha hate stuff is about?

**Long post LOL Truthfully, the same way you said that one Black Country singer doesn't mean there isn't racism in country music, that goes for one family being racist doesn't mean that all (non-black) country music fans feel the same way. I am black and a huge country music fan & country singer-songwriter, and I can tell you that the main issue country fans have/had with Keisha & country music is/was the cross-over factor & mixing of GENRES. Not race. There are racists in every industry & genre and racist fans, because fans are just people & flawed human beings. HOWEVER, that is not, across the board, the source of what the criticism is about. Not at all.

To try and provide a better understanding, Country fans are very protective of the genre, just like we are with R&B and hip-hop. It is hard to break into the industry, and if you claim you are one thing, you have to prove it. And if you want to do the genre, respect it. There may be acts lil Lil Uzi Vert--who is black, but many true or old hip-hop heads don't like hime. And yes, if Lil Uzi were white, there may be an additional element, of course. But even so, it will be judged. Same thing with country. Like Blake even said in an interview, breaking into Nashville is like winning the lottery. There are tons of artist who have tried of years & only a few commercial acts break through. Country fans have even had issues with certain white pop artists even doing duets & charting on the country charts. They also complain about white artists, who are on the current charts, like Dustin Lynch, in particular, who they don't think are genuinely "country". I know it sounds crazy; but that's how the die hard fans are. They also don't like "country pop" & if you listen to these fans, they can't stand groups like Florida Georgia Line &/or "bro country", or any other country cross-over or sub-genre. They want traditional country back & what they don't want to hear is a new artist who never attempted to sing country before the show, just trying to jump into the genre AND THEN say that she is "country pop" or country soul, etc., which is not what they want, they are REALLY going to have an issue with that. The style, not the race of the person. If you look at Darius Rucker, his style is more old-school country. They love that. And I do, too. But I am more open than a lot of country fans. And besides, who doesn't love Darius Rucker, anyway Lol. But Mickey Guyton is a black female country singer who has charted and sung at the Opry, as recently as last month. It's not ALWAYS or ALL about race.
