Do B-Vitamins make you sleepy?

Short answer: No.

Eating and digesting is most likely making you tired. I’d see a GI specialist. POTS can really affect the way your nerves and blood supply operate in the stomach and bowels. You could have delayed gastric emptying, which is causing your body to allocate more resources and energy to move that food, making you tired. This can be corrected with medication.

Your body, even your POTS body, still adheres to the same basic mechanics and chemistry of all other bodies. You may seem to have paradoxical reasons, but honestly, you don’t. You can’t change metabolic reactions and chemistry. You haven’t uncovered the reason.

Without knowing any other symptoms, you might have other co-morbidities. It’s common to have other chronic illnesses along with POTS, such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, etc. I’d discuss your symptoms with your doctor and investigate them.

But, no, it’s not that one b vitamin.
