I’m so sorry. I relate to so much in your post-especially the bladder bit rn. I’m using the bathroom and then immediately needing to use it again-I think my issue is a hypertonic floor (hEDS) and not fully emptying due to so much spasming, but honestly, Gd knows.

I can’t answer your general question, but I can tell you my experience: I personally react to fillers-medications from different or new pharmacies even if they’re “the same” can cause nausea and weird symptoms. If you’re in the US, Carefirst Pharmacy in NJ is wonderful and understanding about MCAS specifically.

If there’s anything I’ve learned and keep learning about MCAS, we seem to be able to react to anything, in a variety of different ways. I have GAD, which I take Xanax for, which relieves many of my MCAS symptoms, especially pain-that was how I learned my pain wasn’t orthopedic, actually, and how I fought back against doctors who wanted to do back surgery on me (I’m having muscle spasms from the inside out- a slightly herniated disc is not causing this hell). I notice that when I take Xanax, all of my symptoms subside-it happens to be a histamine blocker, as well as a muscle relaxer. Figuring out how to eat and live and get ahead of my symptoms is a constant project—I am really rooting for you to get ahead of yours.
