You will not be allowed to leave in an Uber, and you want someone you know to be with you to get your post procedure instructions and make sure you get situated at home. A friend of mine passed out at home after hers (less from the colonoscopy directly than from dehydration and being prone to lightheadedness already from anemia) & fortunately her sister was there to make sure she didn’t hit her head.

If you can’t schedule it at a time when a friend is off, you can hire a nurse / nurses aid / or pca (personal care assistant) through a nursing service— ask your doctor if they have any suggestions, or you can look up nursing services in your area. Many people who don’t have friends or family to help with medical care use these services and there are some that specializes in brief, post-op care. You can also hire someone individually through care.com (for freelancing caregivers, nannies etc), but you may feel safer going thru a nursing agency.
