This coroner's report on a fatal shark attack in Western Australia is a pretty sobering read. (x-post from r/MorbidReality)

Except for the part where the shark took the surfer's body in its mouth

Yes, instead of using its arms, which sharks otherwise do...

dragged it towards shore and very possibly ate it.

This part is factually untrue. The shark swam right back out again. I wasn't really being serious when I said the shark was trying to swim him by dragging him to shore, but it absolutely didn't eat him. That's where they recovered the body, and the guy who went out to help him saw the shark coming back out.

This seemed like a predatory attack to me, it was hungry.

I have no idea if the shark was hungry or not, but if the shark wanted to eat him, there wouldn't be a body for the ME to examine. There was. Almost entirely intact.

The fact is the last time anyone saw the deceased, he was in the shark's mouth.

Uh, no?

If there was anything left it's pretty likely they'd have found it.

You do realize the link is to the coroner's report, right? The body was lying there on his table, right in front of him.

Hell, the title of this thread starts with This coroner's report...
