My name Ajax katzman. I was a resident aboard the orbital station hermes when it was attacked by guardisword. Hermes was a shipping colony, the last stop in and the first stop out from gaia and its stations/colonies. Through intrigue, guardisword had arranged for the theft and smuggling of a powerful mech from the gaia defence force. I was a child at the time, but my father worked aboard a loader in the fast shipping colony. By chance his loader was assigned to the warehouse that contained the powerful mech. Mech's tended to feed off of the connection to human brain waves, and my father could feel the draw of the powerful suit hidden in its cargo crate. It wasnt long before my father decided to check it out. The day that the attack occurred i had come along with my father to work. I was 13 and had been operating loaders under his supervision for a couple years by that point. We had just gotten into an argument. School on labour based colony is pointless: they only train you to keep up the labour. So of course i didn't care for it. My father begged me to consider my possibilities off station, but i refused to listen. Defeated, he decided to show me the suit, hoping it would motivate me to at least join the defense force. The suit was magnificent. Glowing with all the colours of fire, even within the dimly lit container. A massive spear and shield filled its metalic claws, and i spotted all manor of thruster strewn about it. I was amazed, i jad never seen one of these beasts so up close, and even with my little experience with mechs; i could feel the pull it exerted. I immediately exited my loader and moved to enter the suit
