This video is so ridiculous and is bad info for serious off gridders!

The first part of the vid shows him attempting to use green trees to build his cabin and you can see the green limbs he is trimming off. Never use green logs for building a cabin as they will warp and shrink. You can see that happened and his walls are all bowed out of shape.

Later you can see he started over with cedar fence posts he purchased for his cabin.

An 8 foot 6" cedar fence post costs $14 a post and he has at least 100 post for that build which would be $1400. You can see that he butted them together and tried to hide that weak joint with some lumber in the video because the posts are not long enough to make a wall. A cedar post has very poor R value and less than .5 R per inch so he has R3 walls at the thickest part and nothing at the joint.

He tries to make it look like he is a Dick Proenneke outdoorsman but his barber trimmed beard and nicely pressed J Crew plaids just make him look like a complete fool to any real off gridders.

He is not living in the cabin and has a grid home with his wife and daughters and this is at best a really poorly built recreation cabin.

This vide should only be posted as how to not build a cabin or look like a fool!
