Is electrical engineering really that hard as everyone says it is?

About me: I did my undergraduate in EE. MSc in electrical & comp sci, and have been working as an EE for 3 yrs now. Love it. Love it. Love it.

I think you should first ask yourself why you want to pursue EE. Is this something you are passionate about? For me, I was always fascinated with electronics. EE is a beautifully broad discipline. Including for example, control theory, circuits on circuits (analog, digital, microwave, RF, integrated), communication, programming, electromagnetism, etc. All requiring extensive use of math & physics. If you have a passion for it, I'm sure you'll find a particular field that you will fall in love with.

Is it hard? Yes. Arguably one of, if not, the most difficult of engineering disciplines IMO.

Can you do it? Absolutely. Why not? I believe with hard work & dedication, there is nothing you can't achieve. Don't take short cuts. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Make sure you understand the material being taught and practice, practice, practice.

Good luck
