Elon Musk's Plans for Sending 1 Million People to Mars for $500,000 Each

Well, one thing is essential in all of this:

The top level universe is infinite and eternal.

We know we are in the top level universe when we are also infinite and eternal.

Since we are not infinite/eternal, this is not the top level universe.

This is a universe where we are "born in" and likely an experience designed to keep eternity novel. What do you do with eternity?

Obviously, the best way to spend it is to forget that you are eternal and experience things for the first time. The first rain, the sunshine, all the beautiful things in the world - one world, in an infinite number of worlds.

I like to think that a lot of us spend time designing new experiences in the afterlife - like "which game do you want to play for the next 100 years?" Earth is quite popular currently, but there are an infinite number of souls and an infinite universe with infinite experiences.

That's kind of how I like to imagine everything. It sort of makes a lot more sense then I just appeared out of nowhere for the first time in 7 billion years and just happen to be at this certain point in human history soon to be dead again for all eternity.

Birth and death just gives us the illusion of purpose - because there's not much purpose to eternity. If you know you only have 100 years to do things, you're going to be more likely to try - and most of us don't really do anything with our lives anyway (which isn't really "bad" per se).

Things only get bad when there is no happiness anywhere, and I'm sure that after being dropped on earth for 100 years, it really makes you appreciate paradise when you get back.

Imagine afterwards - you watching your friends/family play out their game knowing that they will be up there with you soon. Eventually, most of the people you know are back in paradise and you have been there for awhile.

You think back on the life you had on earth with nostalgia... you remember all the great firsts ... then you notice that some of your friends and family are looking to start new lives in a place. There are so many planets and experiences to choose from - all sorts of amazing things.
