IMO Lost 1 fight against José Luis Castillo but got given a dodgy decision due to his contractual obligations with HBO already planning to build him up as the next PPV star. • UD - Zab Judah - Scrappy fighter plays straight into Mayweathers cherry picked hands for his style • UD - Baldomir - not a power puncher, and not a very technical fighter. Cherry picked again for an easy fight for Mayweather's style • UD - De la Hoya (close fight but DLH over the hill already, should have fought him sooner but stayed well clear and ducked him until he was older) • TKO 10 - Ricky Hatton (Hatton talked up to be better and more skillfull than he actually is/was just a brawler. again easy fight again playing into Mayweathers counter attack/ defensive style) • UD - Marquez - (Floyd apprehensive so forces Marquez to move up in weight - ridiculous pointless fight) • UD - Shane Mosey (way past it, should have fought him in his prime instead of ducking him) • *** Refused to fight Pacquiao making up allegations of steroid abuse as an excuse. • KO 4 - Victor Ortiz (used Smoke Screen to talk him up and say this was the most dangerous challenger in the division when Ortiz was nothing more than an average fighter at best. Also regardless of what Ortiz did, used dirty tactics to get the fight won) • UD 12 - Cotto (as per Mosley, was offered to fight him years ago but ducked him and waited till he was older and less dangerous)
**** Again Refused to fight Pacquaio for a second time, claiming to want a ridiculous cut of the takings, purposely proposed in order to stop the fight from happening
• UD 12 - Guerrero (again used Smoke Screen to talk him up and say this was the most dangerous challenger in the division when he was nothing more than an average fighter at best)
**** Again rebuffed attempts to make a fight with Pacquiao claiming he was all for it but its all Bob Arums fault (who would believe that? Bob Arum has constantly said he is in the money making business but floyds constantly moving the goalposts to stop the fight from happening)
• MD 12 - Saúl Álvarez (Saw an opportunity to get him out of the way while he is still young and inexperienced. Did not want to fight him a year down the line)
**** Floyd puts on his website a poll for who his fans want him to fight next. Khan wins the poll. Mayweather ducks him and fights Maidana instead who is a slower slugger rather than a fighter with speed. Something Floyd is scared of coming up against in case that matches or surpasses that of his own.
• UD 12 - Maidana (again as with Guerrero & Ortiz used Smoke Screen to talk him up and say this was the most dangerous challenger in the division when Ortiz was nothing more than an average walk forward slugger/brawler at best with no real skill. Much like Hatton) • UD 12 – Maidana rematch (Played on the fact that some people were saying the first fight was close, in order to again make farsical talk of Maidana actually being a challenger just to make double the money in an easy re-match. Floyds a ducker but he aint stupid where risk and reward is concerned, that’s why he cherry picks)
And Finally…
*** Will yet again think up some farcical excuse or move the goalposts for any reason not to fight Pacquiao.
We know he will continue stay clear of pacquiao, thats a ducking given. but Is anybody telling me Floyd is going to announce someone who actually can cause him problems like a Keith Thurman or a Khan maybe? nah it will be Someone past it who is an easy pay day, either that or talked up average fighter to be his biggest challenge yet or someone who plays into Floyds style. A Baldomir, Hatton, Ortiz, Guererro, Alvarez, Maidana-esc walk forward slower slugger type fighter. He will stay clear of anyone who may be able to match his speed and reactions so that counts Pacquiao and Khan out straight away.
