How long should I wait to get my 1st oil change as the new owner?

A lot of people seem to be missing that you bought the car used. The maintenance interval is 10k miles I believe. The oil life is just a clock from the last time it was reset. It doesnt measure the oil itself. Assuming it was reset during along with an oil change, then it was probably last changed at ~25k. That tells me ether it was getting changed at shorter intervals, which is good, or that it was put off at 10k, 20k, or both, which is bad.

In general, I'd change the oil as soon as I bought a used car. That way I know for sure when it was last changed. I don't trust a dealer to be honest, or the prior owner to have had maintenance done on schedule.
