rory thinking marriage = settling

I don’t disagree with you, we work as a team and keep growing personally and professionally. Marriage doesn’t change that. But for Rory and Logan, marriage would mean she’d be saying goodbye to her ambitions.

I think Shira’s thing about Huntzbergers basically requiring trophy wives and thus Rory not fitting into the family (I’m summarizing that first dinner) was BS and would’ve been obsolete with Rory/Logan’s generation, and they’d have dealt just fine if Rory had married Logan and become a big journalist. That being said, Logan’s prescribed life and path was non negotiable, so Rory would have inevitably had to sacrifice her dreams to be his wife.

Even if she can still have a career, marriage to someone like Logan Huntzberger is different from marriage to an average guy. Instead of two people meshing their lives together in a way that fits and adjusting for each other along the way, Rory would be forced to fit into Logan’s life. I don’t blame her for not wanting that for herself.
