Mustang GT vs Camaro LT1/SS

A lot of buyers go to the mustang due to practicality. When I was looking between the two, I looked into both options (1LT 5th gen v6, s197 v6) and chose the camaro. I think that main concerns that drive buyers away from the camaro (I.e. small trunk space, narrow field of vision, uncomfortable overall ride) were problems that are easily avoidable.

First, the issue of not being able to see out of the vehicle is easy to get used to and work around as long as you set your seating/mirrors correctly (no backup cameras or blind side monitors but have not faced any real struggle yet).

The second brought up issue of small trunk space/bad practicality is sort of reasonable, however, I’ve come to realize that only the entrance/opening to the trunk is smaller in comparison.

The last point of being overall uncomfortable and a bad daily is very dependent on the person. Features such as the 20inch rims/stiff suspension that I was not used to felt uncomfortable at first but as time went on I grew to like how much feedback I could feel from the car while driving. Getting in and out of the car (the “wingspan” or whatever it should be referred as for the doors are WIDE) is still a struggle sometimes (6’2) but only felt like a problem when in narrow parking spaces.

tl:dr the avoidance factors that drove most buyers away from the Camaro are relatively easy to work around. The body of the car itself was significantly bigger and drew me towards it more along with the more sporty/race car feel of a compact car with silly gauges. Coming from an old Camry with maybe 100whp both of the cars felt like a rocket ship so performance wasn’t the biggest factor for me.
