The axol and melony case is harder to defend as its simply more recent, and with melony going from innocent childlike to somewhat mature adult in the span of less than a year, it can be a little hard to imagine how she would actually process axol being alive, maybe shock and disbelief, maybe frustration that she put herself through so much training pain just to avenge him and protect the others, maybe betrayal that axol didn't hold on to life strongly enough at the time or dishonesty for laying low fir too long when he could have been there for her, who knows?

All I can say is smg4 works best as a slice if life show with some comedy sprinkled in, where its at its most wholesome. It can't do that much with characters who are supposedly not coming back (I get that death is natural but sometimes in smg4 it feels forced), they could have at least waited a few more years and got more out of them first before pulling the plug.

Still, that's just me. Even without either of them, the show still has a large ensemble to develop between each other, especially if they keep adding new ocs and parody characters instead of bringing back old ones.
