Postgame Thread 10/19 - Dodgers @ Cubs

The drought continues for us true-blue Cubs fans. It's difficult for us all to comprehend our team still hasn't won a World Series in more than 351 days! The ghosts of long gone players like Dexter Fowler, Jason Hammel and Chris Coghlan certainly must haunt the ivy now, for it was old-timers like they--and they alone--who were lucky enough to taste victory in the Fall Classic.

Let's look back on the simpler times in which Chicago last flew a World Series banner:

*Gasoline was a mere $2.35 a gallon *Wrigley Field had just opened 102 years prior *Paintings from Monet, Matisse, and Georges Seurat hung in the Art Institute *The US had, at long last, defeated the Nazis, never to darken our lives again *The film "La La Land" introduced America to the musical form of jazz. *Long-haired musicians Tom Petty and Greg Allman played what would become known as 'rock and roll' *Puerto Rico, beloved jewel of the Caribbean, was being considered for statehood *The term for the most divisive presidency in history neared its end, as the nation resolved never to elect as unfit a candidate to the White House again

For the Cub fan, we only have those memories of nearly .942 of a year ago to help us through times like this. Curse the goat, not your team.
