QPS (Jack's Law)

Can you refuse to be wanded in the first place?

Eg. I cross the train bridge at Loganlea train station daily when I go to work. I don't use the public transport, just the bridge over the tracks.

So If the police are at the station, can I refuse to be wanded and just go about my day?

I worry that these powers are going to be extended. This is basically a stop and frisk law. What's next, stop and ID?

When I spoke to a lawyer years ago about general rights here in Australia, the lawyer basically told me that you can refuse any interaction with police at any time. If they have probable cause, they would just arrest you. Any other time it's consensual interaction that you can end at any time.

Looks like it's time for me to get in contact with them again and get a refresher.
