Samsara and Deep Ecology

yes and it turns out that the same brain part that creates our rational and verbal self - the human cortex which although a third of the mass of the brain only about 10 -15 % of the brains total neurons. It is the part of the brain that takes the longest to develop and its completion is related to human growth spurt near end of puberty.

This is the part of the brain that allows words themselves...rather than physical damage or disease...to cause immense pain perhaps even greater than any physical pain. This is all made possible by the unique attributes of the human cortex.

Our actually perceptual self that ...the one recognizes self as different from other...like our immune system does...is in the cerebellum which has about 80%. Only our perceptual experience is in the cortex...our sense of self is in the cerebellum.

So the cortex creates Samsara in its neural networks.

The cortex regulates and mediates states of human consciousness.

The cortex enters a state of 'bistability' in deep sleep where its neural networks are no longer 'phase locked' to external stimulus. After disconnecting from DMN after consciousness enters deep sleep the cortex returns to waking levels of activity while the consciousness remains in deep sleep or when experienced while Nirvana.

Thus the human cortex is the door to both samsara and nirvana.
