You definitely should. Your mother tried so hard to be white and not asian that she pushed her culture and half your blood line away. Its good to embrace where your from and to know that your not ashamed. A lot of Asian women who marry out want to erase their Asian heritage so they think white people (Germans) will accept her more… It’s good for your future career and also for your social networking to know another language….

But don’t be surprised if you find Cantonese very hard… it’s not an easy language. I think it will be very beneficial for you and also you will make a lot of new friends and explore a culture you should have known a long time ago!!
