Thinking about buying the game with a friend. Is it a mistake?

You will enjoy the game so much more if you just stay away from this sub. As much as I enjoy the community and love playing the game, it's turned into compete bollocks.

Admittedly, survival still has a lot of flaws and a lot that needs to be changed, but it can still be very fun to play, especially if it's you're first time. The majority of people writing the posts complaining will often start them with "1300 hours and the game is broken". The game must be doing something good to warrant spending 1300 hours of their time on it. The building system is slightly outdated and could use some work, but it's fun to gather resources and make something of your own. In my experience (roughly 300 hours of survival) hackers are over-exaggerated and not the same problem they once were. You'll still bump into them from time to time, but I've never really experienced them as badly as most of the people on this sub.

As for BR, it's fun as shit. If you have a few friends who also have the game, even better. Watching BR streams is fun, but playing it yourself is so much better, not to mention the excitement you get when you wipe a team or win your first game.

The game has a lot of problems, and still leaves a lot to be desired, but it's still a lot of fucking fun. The game's cheap as shit, just buy it and you'll probably enjoy it.

The game doesn't get half as much praise as it deserves, if people be patient and give it time, it'll develop into an amazing game. You'll probably get frustrated with some of the irritating mechanics/bugs but all in all you'll probably enjoy it.

Just remember that the game is early access and there's still a lot to be done to the game. The devs are spending a lot of time on the invitational at the moment so the updates have been slightly lacking, but before that content was added pretty regularly. The game has progressed incredibly since release and I'd definitely advise you to purchase it.
