Tragic News - Lee MacMillan of Max and Lee has passed away

Im so sorry. I only discovered Lee's story recently, and her openness about mental health and the way she lived her life was so inspiring. I see a lot of myself in her.

I have to ask: did the authorities do a proper investigation? I wouldn't want to retraumatize the family but something about it just seems off. Particularly the chosen method, and that someone so expressive didn't leave a note. From what I understand authorities ruled it a suicide 3 days later because she posted about mental health struggles and spoke to family and friends about self harm and suicidal ideation in the past. That can be a huge cover for someone trying to cause harm to someone with mental health struggles, and there were clearly people who had unhealthy parasocial relationships with her and felt that she owed them something. Were they looked into at all? Obviously the hate speech is bad enough and something the trolls should be held accountable for, but that can escalate.

Also, transit police are notoriously bad at cooperating with the actual police and very quick to rule train deaths suicide without properly investigating or collecting evidence (see Tiffany Valiante, although that was on the East Coast).

I only ask because I've struggled with depression and suicidal ideation (1 actual attempt) for 10 years, and I also had a stalker literally drive across four states to my parents house to try to find me once. It was not lost on me how easy it would be for them to harm me and make it look like suicide because of my history.

Anyway, feel free to ignore and I will almost definitely delete this, but I just want to put it out there. I'm sorry if this brings up pain. The world is a better place because Lee was in it, may she rest in peace knowing she was loved ❤️
