What have you changed your mind most about related to Pure Barre/your experience there since starting?

I am brand new and bought a six class package—I am four classes in. I don’t think I am going to continue beyond my last two classes. I could barely get through the Foundations class a week ago. I am not a stranger to working out (I danced for over a decade as a child/teenager, have run marathons, have done yoga/weight training, and am pretty familiar with good form)—I am just out of shape. Modifications weren’t addressed in Foundations, a class for newbies, which was unfortunate because many of the moves are beyond my fitness level. In the four classes I have taken I have observed that certain PB moves just feel unsafe, particularly where my lower back is concerned. Also, some of the tiptoe moves with the inner thighs pressed together make my knees burn in a bad way.

Thanks for being honest and forthcoming about your issues with PB. I do think the program has some safety issues and pushes participants, particularly beginners, too hard, which may lead to injury.
