Inexperienced ape here xx holder questions about transferring my shares to computer share

Hi little bro. Thanks for asking the question. Not all of this stuff is easy to understand, and I am glad you're here. I have experience with Computershare outside of GME, because they are the transfer agent for my employer, and my company chose Computershare as their transfer agent. Whether my opinion is something you agree with or not is up to you, and you should act on your own decisions.

You're with Fidelity holding GME? Awesome. Me too. You're fine. Sell when it moons. See you up there.

Transferring your shares to Computershare only changes one thing. Whether you own a share registered in your name, or whether you own the equivalent of an IOU for the monetary value of your share from your broker, Fidelity, which is registered to Cede & Co, the invisible subsidiary of DTC who basically owns American finance. Barring highly publicly visible, illegal breaches of contracts, you're getting paid either way when you sell.

The theory is that the more individual investors that register ownership of their shares in Computershare, the fewer shares there are for corrupt market makers to copy and sell. So it gets harder for them to keep the price down. If you move to CS, you're simply helping stick it to the man here. In theory, it doesn't matter to you one bit financially. You're still selling for a price.

So this is great... the pros are that you're helping make life harder for the criminals. The newbies used to ask "Why doesn't Gamestop recall their shares?". Well, they can't... it doesn't work that way. But we all can individually "recall them" by directly registering with Computershare.

The cons to me are two-fold. One, if moon happens in the next week, I can't sell shares that are in transit until my account settles. Second, in my own personal, speculative opinion, Computershare is not used to viral types of ape volume to their phones and website. Fidelity and others had time to experience and prepare for this since Jan. I hope Computershare really, REALLY understands what is coming their way. So I don't go try to sell when the time is right and the website is down. Phone system has a 5 hour wait.

This post is not FUD. I was rich before GME and I'm not buying a Lambo. I'm buying lambo dealerships. I am not trying to instill fear, uncertainty, or doubt in anyone.

TL;DR: You do you, boo. Congratulations on even being here.
