I have found you need all cores to run arcade games. mame2003 for midway games, mame2010 for most data east and irem games,konami games work with mame2003 and fba 2012/2016, majority of neo geo/snk games run well with fba2012/2016. cps1 and cps2 games run well on fba2012/2016 also. some run better than others, better sound,speed,accuracy, etc.. like Cosmic cop for instance, mame2003 will run it well,but it crashes always when I get to about level 2, but with mame2010 it runs well and continues to play through. if its late 80's/early 90's usually mame 2003 or mame2010 work great. mid to late 90's games most work better on fba cores. except a few you can only use mames. just gotta compare sometimes.
