2020 fans, I have to ask, what was it like playing 2077?

Something that I always hated in Cyberpunk P&P was that as the game line matured, it felt like the game was increasingly becoming a circlejerk about Johnny and his little cadre of friends and associates (what I call the Superfriends - yes I found the cheesiest and oldest comparison on purpose) - I felt that Cyberpunk was supposed to be a place where you didn't really have heroes. The various "canon" characters weren't "heroes" but just archetypes -- "your typical rockerboy" or whatever. But as time went on, it felt more and more like "Mike's Fanfic Circle" (especially by Shockwave - that drek about "Adam Smasher is holding Shaitan's broken body" or whatever it was ... wtf is Shaitan? Why are we supposed to care about any of these tools? Why is it some honor that I get to scale Arasaka Tower with them again? I don't play at your table Mike, stop assuming I care about your NPCs) The more I had to hear about Johnny Silverhand the more I hated the guy.

OMG thank you.
