Welcome to r/domyhomeworkforme.

This is the unofficial r/domyhomeworkforme guide. The only moderator umm, went out to get a pack of cigarettes. And as a result, there is NO official guide.

Here's a list of known scammers, with proof:

1) u/UCLAGradTutor : He masquerades as a "high-end" service and uses multiple alt accounts, some even multiple years old (bought). He will give you his college email and his own number (probably google voice) to get you to trust him. The charade continues right up until the moment you pay him, that's when he stops replying to you and there's nothing you can do about it. You think he won't run because you have his info, but alas, you can't exactly report him to the police for not helping you cheat your way through college. Heck, you can't even post it on the subreddit because he's going to threaten to report you to your school.

As of writing, u/UclaGradTutor is the only known active scammer in the subreddit.

Update:

u/UCLAGradTutor is not running his own account like this except it's not a bot lol. He's masquerading once again, this time as the "OFFICIAL guide", except the subreddit has no official guide. The account u/Mattlam57 is a 4 year old account that suddenly became active only to post this, i.e a bought account. Be wary of hiring any old account that has a sudden disconnect in the type of content that they post and anyone who's willing to tell you what uni they went to. No self respecting tutor is going to tell you what uni they went to as it can have severe implications on their lives.

Now onto the actual guide:

1) The subreddit has ZERO moderators. So do your due diligence before you hire anyone. Vouches are easily faked and so are allegations. Do not belive any interaction wether it's a vouch or an allegation if the user does not provice a proof of conversation when requested.

2) It's customary to ask the tutors to solve a sample question. There are no hard rules about it but don't be a dick and ask tutors to do your entire paper without payment. Try limiting the size of the sample question to 10% of your potential order. Also if you can, tip the tutor for the sample question if you are somehow not going to hire them.

3) You are on your own here. As the subreddit grows, so do the scams. There's a very real chance you might end up with an extortionist. Try your best to not reveal your university, atleast on your first interaction. When sending sample questions or regular questions, crop identifying information like name and college.

As of right now, I can't think of anything else to add here. If you have any ideas, please shoot me a chat.

If you are a tutor reading this, reply with a case insensitive "yes" and the bot will stop commenting on your posts.
