Smaller older snail with injury: Sammy Larger younger snail: Sourdough

CONTEXT: I got Sammy a couple months ago when my friend found him on her car, he was already full grown and his shell looked the same as it does in these pictures (minus the injury)

Sourdough I found a week after Sammy in a different friend’s garden. She was very small just barely not a baby anymore, and since then has grown A LOT (she used to be much smaller than Sammy, now she’s much larger) Her shell also has developed new rings and is noticeably less transparent.

Some people say they’re different breeds (I think that’s the right term) I think they’re just different ages and that’s why their shells look so different. What do you guys think?
