Best resources for someone considering the welding field?

I am looking into doing the same thing. Currently, I hold a degree in IT, and I realize that 18 year old me was stupid to think that it would be a safe career choice. If i cant find some kind of stable employment in the next 6 months, I think i am gonna take up sometime at a local community college and get some formal training.

I have machines sitting in my garage now. On the weekends, I cut out some coupons from scrap metal and get to it.

I am also worried about after working dead jobs(less than 15/hr) in college (I just walked 2 months ago) that ill waste (subjective) another 2-4 years working dead jobs with no real money coming in.

But fuck it, you will figure it out soon or later.
