Can i lose more than my premium if i buy puts?

The only way to lose more than your premium is if your puts expire in the money, are exercised, and you then are short stock.

This isnt correct in the POV of OP's question.

The original question was, Can you lose more than the premium you paid for an option?

his original question is, "Can i lose more than my premium if i buy puts?" specifically implying long Put positions.

there is no way to lose more than your premium if you are long puts.

if it expires worthless, you're simply out your premium

if it expires ITM and you have no shares, you'll be auto closed for a (probably) relevant profit.

if it expires ITM and you have shares, well, you'll either be auto closed for a relevant profit, or you can choose to exercise your right to sell your underlying at the strike price.

regardless, strictly in the POV of his log put position, he wont lose more than his premium.
