Is changing courses in poly possible?

For SP's DMAD (Media, Arts & Design) courses, have you applied through EAE (Early Admission Exercise)? If you have not, I am afraid your choices are very limited.

According to your higher nitec course's JPAE (both non-DPP & DPP) routes, you are pretty much restricted to RP's design courses and a select few others from other polys.

They are:
<Design>
1. RP Design for User Experience
2. RP Design for Games & Gamification
3. RP Sonic Arts
4. RP Arts & Theatre Management
5. RP Media Production & Design
6. TP Product Experience & Design

<If you're interested in IT>
1. RP Digital Design & Development
2. TP Immersive Media & Game Development
3. NP Immersive Media
(Note: These courses may not sound very IT, but they involve a lot of coding in them)

<If you're still fine with engineering>
1. RP Engineering Design with Business
2. TP Infocomm & Media Engineering
(Note: These courses are mainly engineering with a bit of design in them, not the other way round)

You can look up the JPAE Poly Course File for your higher nitec course here:
<For non-DPP>
https://jpae.polytechnic.edu.sg/App/StaticPage/IT41_HNITEC.pdf
<For DPP>
https://jpae.polytechnic.edu.sg/App/StaticPage/IT41_DPP.pdf

If any of these courses do catch your interest, do visit the course's website and take a look through their modules and see which interest you the most. DO NOT go into a course blindly.

If you still insist on applying for SP's DMAD courses, I am afraid the only choice for you is to apply through DAE (Direct Admission Exercise). JPAE and/or DPP will be unavailable for you as none of SP's DMAD courses are available through JPAE/DPP for your higher nitec course.

SP's DAE application period opens up in 12th Jan 2023 and lasts until 17th Jan 2023 which is about 3 weeks from now. Mark it down on your calendar and start preparing for it. DO NOT wait until you graduate to start on this. If not you will have to wait until 2024 to try again.

SP's DAE portal is here: https://publicsas2.sp.edu.sg/csprdpub/courseapplication.htm

Prepare your portfolio (your design artworks or whatever) and also start prepping for the interview. Hopefully you also have a good/decent GPA as well and you're truly passionate for the arts/design/media (to show in your interview). All the best & good luck.
