Chapter 2: Heavy Static - Trial for the Murder of Gonti Nomura (Part 1)

*It was about time for this thing to start. Something he had not looked forward to, something he would rather not do. Alas, avenging a human life by finding out who had done them in was part of his moral code. Or, to be more specific, the humane thing to do. As much as he dreaded the process and being a witness to another death--which ultimately defeated the "forgive-and-love" results these things usually end in. However, that is a dream rather than a reality here. All he had to do was cave in and do his best, right? That must be easy, right?*

*A sigh leaves the author's mouth, not exhibiting a product of boredom from this exercise. More so, an attempt to better conceal the impelling dread that may overcome him at this trial's conclusion. He had hoped for retribution, but all he got was Armageddon. How dreadful.*

"So, let's get this show on the road, shall we?" *albeit nervously, he adjusts his tie. He begins his formal statement.* "This is the basis of my alibi, at around 10 AM, I was in my room. Seeking the outdoors for a few hours, feeling some fresh air--or whatever constitutes as air in this place--to provide some comfort. My usual habits have overcome me, I suppose. After that, dead at midnight, I returned to my room to sleep. And finally, to arrive at the scene of the crime at 1AM, wide awake."

*He claps his hands together,* "From my investigation, I have found something interesting. Something that may be a potential tool for murder. In the infirmary, there were certain things out of place. Like a defibrillator missing from the supply closet, along with some medicine and salves. And a bed with the entire upper layer stripped off, with some springs missing as well. Any ideas?"
