Christmas traditions

My husband and I always spend Christmas at my parents house, as do my sister and brother-in-law. Since we all live away from each other, we usually all stay together for about five days. It’s always chill and about relaxing a much as possible. Christmas Eve day is spent lazing by a fire, drinking eggnog or hot chocolate, most of us in pjs all day. My dad usually has a selection of beers he wants us to try out and plays Christmas movies on in the living room all day. My husband and my mom are so cute in their mutual love of video games and will always get engrossed in a game for a few hours - last year it was Zelda. We‘ve always made New England seafood chowder, cheese and chocolate fondue, and lamb chops for Christmas Eve dinner. Then we all bundle up and take the dogs with us for our Christmas Eve late night walk in the forest behind their house - it’s alway more magical if it’s snowed.

Christmas morning we make pancakes or waffles with fruit and bacon. Open gifts and then we go on a daytime hike and see a movie in the theater that night.
