I mean to be fair we likely lack free will in the real world if you adopt a purely materialist perspective.

From the view of dialectical materialism (a leading philosophy in China and Vietnam) we're all just the products of matter and energy interacting I'm a very long and complex chain reaction. If one were omnipotent then they could theoretically see where all of these reactions will lead.

I always liked how the Watchmen comics kinda tackled this with Dr Manhattan. He could see the future but couldn't change it and would be surprised and caught off guard as events folded in front of him because his ability to see the way the universe unfolded didn't divorce him from still being a part of that universe. So essentially he was just playing through the motions as he lived.
