There's no sense hoping for an alternate universe where capitalists are too stupid to make concessions, or where the lower classes are stoic and class aware enough to refuse them. It's just not going to happen.

You can't tell people to refuse life-saving medical care for themselves and their loved ones and expect them to still believe that you're on their side.

We live in the world we have, and we need to figure out how to make changes from where we are. We can't expect a regression to a time when shit was so bad and the capitalists so naiive that we could stir the people to a violent revolution. A revolution which, let me remind everyone, did not defeat capitalism.
