The cost of forsaking C

Fuck you and your sockpuppets, here is it again so you can waste your time downvoting:

"(the excitingly named The C Programming Language) was published in 1988; C is so unfashionable that the authors have neglected to update it in light of 30 years of progress in software engineering."

? Dennis Ritchie, one of the authors, died in 2011. Also, the errata was last updated in 2006, that's far from 30 years: http://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/belllabs-microsite-dritchie/cbook/2ediffs.html

C helps you think like a computer; and,

Computers don't think, they compute.

I agree with C being useful though, who's really questioning that? All the serious schools still use C at least in some OS course.

Edit: downvoting? seriously? The guy does not even hold a CS degree, has a two-person company which he calls CS school and is one of the instructors, the other being some dude who was CTO of a dev bootcamp. I thought you could use your brain to see this is marketing before something like "surely the cs professor knows what he's talking about" bullshit. Come on.

Edit 2: yeah, keep the sockpuppets coming. I'm out.
