I think Andrea is a great actress, she is probably due for an Oscar nom one day. And award show campaigning has been a thing since forever. But I think what irks people about this kind of social media campaigning is that it feels awfully manufactured since it’s shown on social media repeatedly in the same manner. Crazy thing is is that people understand campaigning when it’s done behind the scenes. Hence why people were only up in arms about the Emily in Paris team sending free trips and souvenirs to the HFPA to nab Golden Globe noms only AFTER it leaked to the public. Otherwise, the general public would just see it as “Oh, they campaigned quite well.”
