Does anyone know anything about autism resources in the Triangle?

Start with the Autism Society of North Carolina: [www.autismsociety-nc.org](www.autismsociety-nc.org)

ASNC is a terrific clearinghouse for autism resources in the state, links to local parent support chapters, an online bookstore, and Camp Royall, a summer camp for kids and adults on the spectrum. Get on as mailing lists as you can, and definitely check into your local chapter. Most have google or yahoo email lists, coffee meetups, and plenty of parents who can point you in the right direction. I can't say enough great things about the camp and their year-round programming for kids and adults.

TEACCH is also a great resource. Also, TEACCH will provide services at no charge, but the waiting list for services can be years long, as they serve the entire state.

Regarding schools in the Triangle, there are a few that serve autistic children: [Mariposa School in Cary]{www.mariposaschool.org) Learn With the Best School in Cary.
Fletcher Academy in Raleigh Just Right Academy in Durham

Those four schools could provide you great info about public school options for you in the different areas that make up the Triangle. Public schools are governed by county, so you're looking at Wake, Durham, Orange, Hillsborough, and Chapel Hill - Carrboro counties, as far as possible places you'd likely be looking at for a new home.

One more thing to check out: Extraordinary Ventures in Chapel Hill. They provide employment opportunities for adults on the spectrum, and is another resource that could help get you information about services and options in the triangle.
