DreamCatchers and Witchcraft?

Wowsa, I apparently hit a nerve...

So I'm not allowed to mention things you've said yourself, but you're allowed to just attack me the way you just did? I simply tried to explain, but now I believe there's no need to do that anymore. I'm on this subreddit to help people, and genuinely wanted to help you. Nowhere in my comments did I assume anything, I simply commented on things you mentioned, even in the comment you made AFTER my comment.

You say you're not going to do it anymore, for which I commend you. However, in the response to my comment (keep in mind you accuse me of not reading well), you say you might still do it, because you don't personally believe it's cultural appropriation and want to sell beautiful items infused with spells. I deliberately chose my words with your comments in mind, and with the thought not all people agree on the same thing, in other words not being any consensus. The thing I tried to do is to show you why at this stage (I never said you should never sell magical items, I even mentioned things you could make and sell!) I think it's not a good idea.

Look, if you want help: this is the right place. But don't expect people to agree with you based off of things we don't know. We only have the things you say to look at, and I respond. If you don't want people to respond to whatever you're saying, just don't post. I was polite, and I tried explaining. It didn't work, and that's a shame.

Kinda funny I have to explain this, but people jump to the gatekeeping wagon quite easily. No, I don't think I've said anything wrong, nor do I "realize" I said something wrong in the light of gk, I simply explained why in this case (I would suggest you read the excellent post on gatekeeping posted somewhere in the last week!) this wouldn't be the case. Did I say you could only do this or that when you're a or b? No, i don't think so. I only encouraged to do some research before attempting to sell items that have issues with cultural appropriation, because it will be looked at in the wrong light.

I suggest to keep your own advice to heart, and read all of our commentors responses without feeling the need to defend. We're making some good points (based on what you mentioned), and are here to help. I hope you can see that.
