Raising a child is about developing a human being to be a productive member of society.

But the idea of being a productive member of society is itself a product of capital and its need for slaves to do mindless labor. I would say that humans should be creative aspects of society working together rather than using production as a reference of worth. Even if your meaning behind production means something different than capital's it still supports the idea that if someone isn't producing something then they are not a good member of society which can have all sorts of nasty consequences like people hating the homeless for being a drain on society. Productive is an economically rooted word. Humans aren't walking economic factors, they are living breathing entities. Although the economy is obviously rooted in human activity, reducing people to productive and non-productive units, regardless of one's definition of production, is too limited a viewpoint and furthers a dichotomy of worth that was created by capital, not the proletariat, and as an anti-capitalist I want to move beyond production as the center of the worker's live and that includes rejecting the idea of "productive members of society".

All fine and dandy, but the "responsibility" learned at school is the willful subjugation of the slaves to their masters. They have a set amount of "work" they must complete and even after they return home, their supposed "free time", they are made to contemplate their work though homework. To a school-age child, school is the center of life, what dictates their schedule, just as work is the ruler of the worker. They are taught the "responsibility" that comes with being a slave and are forced to submit. Now, responsibility is important, but I think that is better taught through creative association with other people, care for animals, and being an active part of something greater than one person instead of the crass subjugation that the current school system imposes.
