In some ways it would demonstrate more growth by Demetri if Kyler completely kicks his ass but Demetri keeps getting back up and continues to fight him. Demetri's worst quality in the early seasons is that he is so afraid of being hit that he is acts like a bit of a weasel. In the first couple of seasons, he leaches off Miguel and then Robby and Sam because he doesn't want to actually learn karate but he wants protection.

It seems like in season five Sam, Robby and Miguel will be stuck in their emotions keeping them from being Miyagi Do's heroes. Last season Demetri didn't think he could step up and be the boy's champion because he didn't think he was good enough. It would be cool if he's forced to be the one who stands up to Cobra Kai and protects Anthony and the other younger kids.

Instead of him suddenly being some great fighter he finally gets over his fear and fights his bullies regardless of whether or not he gets the crap beat out of him.
