Frequently Asked and Simple Questions Megathread

I just started playing the game this week. Built one city and after it flooded and I had a better feel for the game I started fresh. I wanted to plan for expansion, so I built some permanent residential/ commercial areas and a temporary industrial area until I unlocked the roads and tiles I wanted to set out my foundation. Eventually, I dezoned and bulldozed the industrial district and built a new one as part of my city plan. That was around 3,400 population, I'm now at 15,000 and ever since I dezoned my original industrial area I've had 0 demand for Industry. I zoned some industry but nothing will build. My employment is fine, i guess theyre all working in the commercial zones, but my stores all mostly now don't have enough goods to sell. My population demand keeps going up and they need commercial, but industry has been at 0 this whole time. The industrial zone is connected by highway, train and public transit for workers. I don't know what im doing wrong. Anyone have any tips for increasing my demand for industry? The industrial zone that just looks like a barron wasteland and the services there are just wasting money.
