Fruits Basket: The Final Season - Episode 9 discussion thread

“What Would Tohru Honda Do?” Literally my new motto every time someone tests my patience.. that girl is an angel omg

I loved reading the mostly positive takes on Akito’s character development this ep, but I must say, I feel as if the kindness she’s receiving is so undeserved. I get that it makes Tohru and Momiji’s integrity and emotional maturity shine even more, and I also get that yes, Akito is a victim of her upbringing, but homegirl got absolved so easily. She physically AND emotionally abused so many of the zodiac members, and yes, she’ll probably live with the guilt for the rest of her life, but damn. Okay the stabbing spree was cathartic for her, but even a slap or a sucker punch back would’ve been cathartic for us?? Which is what makes Tohru the perfect patron saint of kindness..

On a lighter note, idk what it is but Shigure was looking might fine in this ep!!! I think it has to do with how gentle he was with Akito despite asking her if she pushed Tohru down a cliff lol. That’s true unwavering love, just not in the wholesome Tohru x Kyo kind haha
