Personally, I love the idea of TV showing us the future we could build and inspiring people towards that goal. E.g. Original Star Trek being racially inclusive.

I just hate it when it's shoved down my throat. When you see every single man be painted as troubled, needlessly aggressive and somehow always beaten by a woman every step of the way, it's not what you described anymore.

But if it's too on the nose, ticking checkboxes

It's not even ticking checkboxes, that would even be fine with me. You wanna make sure you have a black or female character? Sure, no worries. But this is trying to make sure women absolutely dominate men in every category.
