I'm sure that in the course of your studies you would have had some coursework on bias. Your post is classic experience bias.

Bias is very human so there's no judgement there. How does it stack up against the data on dog attacks causing injury outside your personal experience? Or the widespread reported experienced of professionals such as vets?

But before we engage in activities which seem to have an intent to belittle or undermine (again, the title of your post), it's a good idea to check out biases.

Your experience, as you know, is valid - for you.
